This Year, Netflix Intends to Distribute 34 New Korean Productions

According to a recent CNN story, Netflix has “Its biggest-ever slate of Korean programming” planned for this year. The rumors state that this year, Netflix will release 34 new and old titles. Television shows and movies from the latest Korean programming batch span various genres, including romance, thrillers, and more.

60% of all Netflix subscribers reportedly watched Korean content in 2017. Netflix intends to make further investments in Korean content due to the success of Korean movies.

Don Kang, the company’s vice president of Korean content, stated, “The global popularity of K-content has continued over 2022. Over the last year, Korean series and films have regularly featured in our Global Top 10 list in more than 90 countries, and three of Netflix’s most-watched shows are from Korea.”

On the other hand, Netflix started releasing 15 Korean movies in 2021 and raised it to 25 in 2022. This year, Netflix will publish 34 new pieces of Korean content due to its rising popularity.
