Nicolle Wallace is an American writer and political analyst on television. She was a co-host of the ABC daytime talk show The View before becoming the anchor of the MSNBC news and politics program Deadline: White House. She frequently appears on television as a political analyst for MSNBC and NBC News, including on Today, The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle, and Morning Joe.
During George W. Bush’s administration and 2004 reelection campaign, Wallace held the position of White House Communications Director in her previous political career. Nicolle Wallace, an MSNBC anchor, and Michael Schmidt, a correspondent for the New York Times who frequently appears on her afternoon show, are divorcing after 14 years of marriage. Under Bush, Nicolle Wallace oversaw communications for the White House. Later, while Mark Wallace was also advising Sen. John McCain during his 2008 presidential campaign, she served as a top advisor to Sarah Palin. Through August 2015, she co-hosted “The View” for an entire year.

Wallace began her political career covering state politics in California before working for a short while as an on-air reporter. She relocated to Florida in 1999 to work as press secretary for Governor Jeb Bush, and in 2000, she was hired as the Florida State Technology Office’s director of communications. In these roles, she was in charge of overseeing outreach and strategy for local press coverage. As the communications director for Bush’s 2004 presidential campaign, Wallace began working for the campaign in 2003.
