A new trailer for One Piece Film: Red has been released, and in addition to featuring new looks at Luffy, Shanks, and other unnamed characters, it also introduces Ulta, who also happens to be Shanks’ daughter. Ulta seems to have a voice that can “change the world” despite not knowing whether or not she will be good or evil. Her hairstyle resembles that of Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia.
The story behind One Piece Film: Red has been a mystery as the Straw Hats have been involved in the War For Wano Arc, fighting Kaido and his Beast Pirates.
Luffy seems to be taking up arms against an unknown threat in this upcoming fifteenth film, though it’s unclear what her new form will look like.
Ultra’s voice is being marketed as something that will “change the world,” so it’s intriguing to see whether or not Shank has a role to play or if his daughter takes most of the lead when it comes to meeting Luffy and his crew.
One Piece Film: Red’s first trailer is below. The trailer drops several bombshells, such as Shanks’ return and the family that he apparently has outside of the realm of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hats. Toei Animation has not yet announced a release date for One Piece: Red in North America.
The One Piece Film: Red movie will arrive in Japanese theaters on August 6th. When the previous film in the series, One Piece: Stampede, came out during a similar timeframe in Japan, the North American release was in October of that year, so perhaps the same will be true for the film featuring the return of Shanks.
