Oregon’s lopsided loss To Georgia Drops The Ducks Into The First Bottom 25 Of The 2022 College Football Season

The recent decision to expand the College Football Playoff has been talked about a lot in the news, but where was this talk in December? That’s when The Bottom 25, the most forward-thinking and innovative college football ranking, expanded its playoff to include 12 schools. Why hasn’t The Bottom 25 gotten as much attention from the media as the College Football Playoff?

Could it be that The Bottom 25 is being held back by the bad people behind the CFP? I don’t know, but neither you nor I can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they aren’t. So, we have to keep asking the question until that happens!

You might also want to know, “What is The Bottom 25?” Well, I’ve already told you that it’s the most forward-thinking and innovative college football ranking there is, and that’s because this is the only poll that ranks the 25 worst teams in college football.

And, unlike those other polls that favor teams with well-known names and helmets, The Bottom 25 doesn’t show any opinion or prediction. This is all about the results.

I use a strict reactive rating system to make these lists. Every team starts each season with the same rating, and that rating goes up or down based on how the team does in games during that season.

It doesn’t matter how well Alabama is at recruiting or that Georgia won the national championship. They start the season in the same place as UMass, which won the Bottom 25 Playoff last year.

As a result, early-season rankings can be a bit volatile. So remember that before you get too excited about what you see here after Week 1. Or just act too much. That’s also fine. On to the rankings for this week!
