Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye will be working together again in a drama after an eleven-year hiatus. In a recent photo shoot with ELLE Korea, the two leads of the upcoming drama “Doctor Slump” posed for the magazine.
The romantic relationship between the two actors is vividly depicted in the latest photo shoot. In addition to the photo session, we also interviewed them extensively to learn more about their involvement with the play.
The romantic comedy series “Doctor Slump” follows the arc of two characters, Nam Ha Neul (Park Shin Hye) and Yeo Jeong Woo (Park Hyung Sik), whose enmity turns to love. Once successful in their fields, both protagonists hit a professional setback owing to external factors.
In high school, Ha Neul and Jeong Woo were inseparable rivals who eventually broke up after graduation. Their romance takes an interesting and hilarious turn when destiny steps in when they both quit their careers as doctors and end up sharing a room on a rooftop.
After a three-year hiatus, Park Shin Hye will make her acting comeback as Dr. Nam Ha Neul. She opened up about her feelings about getting back into acting, saying, “There’s always a sense of tension when I start work.” That seems to be my emotional state.
The plot of the new drama is relatable, so I had no trouble following up with the script. Ha Neul, whose job involves dealing with people, is a character who I connected to because of the difficulties she faces. A lull and burnout can happen to everyone, in my opinion. On the surface, they could appear to be fine, but that’s not always the case.

Another thing that Park Hyung Sik said was, “I could relate to the subject of slump.'” Everyone who fights valiantly every day in our society would find value in this story, I thought. I pray that our drama can bring solace to others, just as it did to me.
When asked if anything had changed since their encounter in ‘The Heirs’ eleven years ago, Park Shin Hye said, “(Back then) Park Hyung Sik was very busy.” On occasion, he would depart from the airport directly for the set. I was amazed because he seemed so focused and composed during the performance; I couldn’t believe he had memorized all those lines. He also possesses the same outstanding character traits. Because of this, we were able to operate well together.
In 2013, Park Hyung Sik was incredibly busy filming ‘Real Men’ and musicals, as she also said. Therefore, I simply felt rushed during the performance. However, I gained a lot of knowledge from observing Park Shin Hye Noona’s performance. Immediately, she could convey a range of emotions. I gained a wealth of knowledge as a result.
The premiere date for “Doctor Slump” is January 27, 2024. At 10:30 PM (KST), the show will be broadcast on JTBC every Saturday and Sunday. People in certain regions will be able to watch it on Netflix, and viewers in South Korea can watch it on TV. For more updates you can join us on our Twitter account.
