Professor and social activist Seo Kyoung Duk offered his thoughts on the subject in reaction to the deluge of unpleasant remarks directed to actress Han So Hee by Japanese internet users following her social media post featuring Ahn Jung Geun.
Professor Seo Kyoung Duk discussed the matter on social media on December 27, writing, “Han So Hee is reportedly facing strong protests from Japanese netizens after she posted a photo of Ahn Jung Geun.”
Han So Hee had previously written on December 24 KST, “It is not the romance of Gyeongseong, nor the creatures of the Japanese colonial period. Rather, it is the story of the people of that brilliant and dark time who faced off against monsters born from experiments that turned humans into instruments.”
I believe this to be true. The only way for us to be strong is to love each other. She went on to say, “It was the spring of that year when the sun could set,” while a still from the Netflix series ‘Gyeongseong Creature‘ and a portrait of activist Ahn Jung Geun were shown.

Several Japanese internet users voiced their disapproval of these images by commenting things like “I used to be a fan, but I never expected her to post a photo without considering the feelings of Japanese people,” “It feels anti-Japanese,” and “I’m saddened as a fan.”
Professor Seo Kyoung Duk offered his opinion on the subject, saying, “The lack of proper history education they received can be attributed to the absurd reaction of Japanese netizens to Han So Hee’s comments on terrorism and the hero.” Additionally, he brought up the possibility that it was the result of the Japanese government’s inaction in promoting truthful historical education.
“It seems that they are apprehensive about K-content,” he continued. They appear to be worried that their past blunders will be revealed as K-dramas and K-movies become more popular throughout the world. Concerned about the worsening ties between the two countries, Professor Seo stressed the need of more proactive worldwide marketing using K-content to counteract historical misconceptions going forward.
