Kep1er
Kep1er, a South Korean girl group managed by Swing Entertainment and Wake One Entertainment, was created in 2021 as a result of the Mnet reality survival competition program Girls Planet 999. Kim Chae-hyun, Huening Bahiyyih, Choi Yu-jin, Kim Da-yeon, Seo Young-Eun, Kang Ye-seo, Hikaru Ezaki, Mashiro Sakamoto, and Shen Xiaoting are the other members of the group.
On January 3, 2022, the extended play (EP) First Impact served as their official debut. Using the website Naver, Girls Planet 999 viewers offered the name “Kep1er”.
The planets in the star systems named after the 16th-century scientist Johannes Kepler are referenced in the name. Also, the name maintains its connection to Girls Planet 999 by carrying on the show’s cosmic motif.
