Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse, was a hit with viewers and made $120.5 million in the United States.
According to Comscore, this makes the Sony Pictures Animation movie’s opening weekend the second biggest of 2023, after The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The first weekend of Across the Spider-Verse was also the third biggest of any Spider-Man movie.
In Across the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) go on an epic journey across the multiverse. They meet a new group of Spider-People called the Spider Society, led by Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), as they battle to face a new threat.
Moore told EW, “Miles is in a place where all he wants to do is impress her.” “He will jump across worlds through a portal to be with her. And, to be honest, I don’t know anyone for whom I would jump through a hole.”
