The actor Oh Young-Soo, who played Squid Game, was convicted of s*xual misconduct in a case that was brought in 2022.
The Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court handed down a sentence of eight months in prison, with two years of suspension, and ordered the 79-year-old actor to undergo forty hours of a s*xual assault treatment program for his 2017 s*xual harassment of an actress.
Oh Young-Soo became famous all over the world after playing Oh Il-Nam in Squid Game in 2021, for which he won a Golden Globe. The allegations against Oh Young-Soo surfaced in November 2022, when he was alleged to have kissed, held the hand, and hugged an actress inappropriately.

The actor was accused by prosecutors of repeatedly embracing the woman, taking her hand, kissing her on the cheek, and even making s*xually suggestive statements while lying in her rented room.

Judge Jeong Yeon-Ju stated that the actress sought counseling for s*xual assault in 2018, kept a journal, and shared her story with others. According to reports, she attempted to put the events behind her until the popularity of “Squid Game,” at which point she demanded an apology from the actor.
Oh Young-Soo allegedly informed reporters that he intends to file an appeal against the decision.
