The announcement of BTS member Kim Taehyung’s (V) upcoming digital song FRI(END)S by HYBE on March 3, 2024, caused quite a stir. But the artist made waves on the internet when X user @snowflower1052 said that Taehyung’s Compose Coffee cup sleeves are no longer being made because of “restrictions from HYBE.”

Compose Coffee shines on Baemin after BTS V debuts on cup sleeves! According to the X user, they made the change online after finding out about the cup sleeve scarcity at their regular store. Followers of the Love Me Again lyricist were understandably outraged and voiced their opinions on X.
Fans Are Furious Over HYBE Has Stopped Making the Sleeves for Taehyung’s Compose Coffee
In December 2023, Kim Taehyung was named the official spokesperson for Compose Coffee, a coffee company based in Busan. Photoshoots and advertising campaigns for the beverage brand paid the singer more than $4.6 million.
More than 2.6 million people downloaded the Compose Coffee app after he was named the brand’s ambassador. After that, they came out with coffee cup holder sleeves that had BTS’ V on them. Gathered by Korean aficionados, who used them to create exquisite flower-shaped frames and cup sleeve bouquets, orders started pouring in.
They don’t even monitor his music but they have all the time to micromanage what his brands or magazines do. Their priorities in the wrong place.

That led to a frenzy on the video-sharing platform TikTok, where users showcased their flower-making skills in a series of films. However according to reports, you can only get your hands on the Compose Coffee Taehyung cup sleeves at retailers in South Korea right now. According to what they said:
“Therefore it is strictly only available in SK outlets for now. Will update again if there’s more hope in the future”
Meanwhile, the Love Me Again singer’s admirers said that HYBE was attempting to “sabotage” her by stopping the recording. Some people brought up the fact that it took the corporation months to make V’s Spotify artist profile and properly recognize him as a member of BTS.
Despite the main focus being on limiting the manufacturing of cup sleeves, the online discourse revolved around HYBE’s alleged maltreatment of Taehyung. Some fans’ reactions to X are as follows:
It’s always “under stocked” or “limited quantity” when it comes to him
Be honest BH, what exactly is your beef with him? https://t.co/hzrQjVfe06

Hybe is limiting the cup sleeves being printed like the way they controlled the number of Layover albums being sold on first day 🙄 https://t.co/Bp7zRiZX1J

Compose Coffee released a lengthy interview with V of BTS on January 8, 2024. Among his many interview responses was a description of his go-to drink from the selection at the neighborhood watering hole.
According to social media users who went to Compose Coffee shops in South Korea and shared their experiences, the singer’s favorite Citron Tea quickly sold out at a few of these shops.
On January 15, rumors started circulating that “Yuja Chha” had its first-ever sales surge of 72%. Because of the tremendous impact that having V of BTS as the face of the coffee business has had, the brand is hell-bent on expanding its chain of locations worldwide.
Also, on March 15, at 1 pm KST, HYBE will release the digital R&B single “FRI(END)S” by BTS member V.
