Joe and Teresa declared bankruptcy in 2009. They stated in their statement that they owed more than $11 million, and as a result, they had to auction off a lot of their belongings and list their property for sale. Joe and Teresa were both charged with 39 charges of conspiracy to conduct bank fraud, wire fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and making false representations on loan applications when they were both indicted in July 2013.
