The Astronaut Song Performed By BTS’s Jin Has Been Voted The Week’s Most Popular Song. In a poll released on Friday (Oct. 28) on Billboard, listeners chose the uplifting pop-rock single by the BTS superstar as their favorite new music release of the previous week. New songs from Rihanna (“Lift Me”), SZA (“Shirt”), Dove Cameron (“Bad Idea”), and Polo G (“Bag Talk”) were beaten out by “The Astronaut,” penned by Jin and Coldplay.
In his most recent release, Jin sings in both English and Korean about a love that can’t be contained by this world. Coldplay’s signature stadium-filling rock sound provides a solid foundation for Jin’s unwavering, calming voice on this single.
The vocalist has shown in his previous solo work (‘Awake,’ ‘Epiphany’) that he can convey genuine feelings to his ballads; ‘The Astronaut’ is a more energetic, dynamic pop-rock tune that embodies this same sympathetic approach. On Friday night in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at a concert by Coldplay, Jin sang “The Astronaut” for the first time live (Oct. 28).
Live coverage of the sold-out stadium show was shown in 3,500 venues across 80 countries. Previously, BTS worked with Coldplay on the song “My Universe” from their 2021 album, Music of the Spheres. In its first week of release, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100, making history as the first No. 1 on the chart to have vocals from two different groups.
Jin and Coldplay’s Songs “The Astronaut” And “Lift Me” By Rihanna Came Out On Top
Several new songs, like Rihanna’s long-awaited Lift Me for Blank Panther 2, came out in the last week. A member of BTS, Jin, has released a solo single titled “The Astronaut,” which looks to have won over listeners’ hearts. Billboard compiled a ranking featuring several recent albums and found that Kim Seokjin’s new solo effort was the most popular.
On Friday, October 28th, listeners were allowed to vote for their favorite song from the previous week in an online poll. Rihanna’s “Lift Me,” Polo G’s “Bag Talk,” SZA’s “Shirt,” Dove Cameron’s “Bad Idea,” and others made the list.
One notable result from the survey was that Jin’s The Astronaut, which was written with Coldplay, was voted the favorite. In the new song, the K-pop star sings in both Korean and English to convey the boundless nature of her love.
Fans first heard his smooth tenor on his solo singles “Awake” and “Epiphany,” but with “The Astronaut,” the idol showed the BTS ARMY a more energetic pop-rock side. In addition to the poll, Jin made his live debut with the song the same day it was released, performing it with British rock band Coldplay at a concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Takeoff from Migos shared a chilling story on Instagram hours before his death, and he was memorialized by Drake and Kylie Jenner. Chris Martin, frontman for Coldplay, revealed to concertgoers that Jin had approached him before the show and asked for a song to perform as a sort of farewell to his fans before Jin enlists in the South Korean military.
Billboard claims that 3,500 theatres in more than 80 countries screened the concert live after it had sold out. In light of the Halloween stampede tragedy in Itaewon that claimed the lives of at least 150 people, BTS’s agency Big Hit recently announced that they had postponed all further activities slated for Jin’s recent release.
