The most recent The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 news examines how the current Hollywood strikes may affect the future of the whole Walking Dead series, including Dead City.
AMC Networks CEO Kristin Dolan promised viewers that The Walking Dead spinoffs wouldn’t be impacted by the strikes, despite the fact that several productions have been suspended and delayed in recent months as a result of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The reality for AMC Networks, she insisted, is that we have a pipeline of completed shows that will enable us to continue providing our audience with content across all of our platforms through the rest of this year and well beyond 2024.
Dolan’s remarks are quite short-term, so perhaps things are not as hopeful as she says, despite the fact that they are encouraging for projects that are in the near future.
While the production of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will probably not affected by delays, it appears that the production of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 will be affected if the strikes are not resolved soon.
It’s probable that the current strikes will result in a lengthier gap between seasons than AMC expects because there isn’t a firm release date for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2. However, the network continues to be optimistic that Dead City’s second season will air when scheduled (which appears to be around 2024).
Is The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Confirmed?
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 was formally approved by AMC during the The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Although the number of episodes wasn’t disclosed, if the franchise follows its existing model, Dead City should have six episodes, just like its first season.
Maggie and Negan will have at least one more season to work out their differences, just as the season one finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City hinted.

When Will The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Release?
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 might premiere as early as the summer of 2024 if the spinoff’s second season is scheduled to start filming in 2023. It would make sense for the season to premiere around that time, but the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes may make things much more difficult. When Maggie and Negan’s tale returns on AMC may depend on how soon these problems are rectified.

Who Will Be In The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Cast?
Dead City is undoubtedly bringing back Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, in addition to Ginny, since the actress who plays her, Mahina Napolean, already revealed she would be returning to New York to record more Dead City episodes at some point in 2023 (via MidWeek).
It can also be assumed that Gauis Armstrong (Perlie) and Eljko Ivanek (The Croat), who both play characters who are among the few to have survived Dead City’s first chapter, will continue as series regulars even though there has been no confirmation regarding the other actors returning for the Dead City season 2 cast. The Dama, a character created by Lisa Emery, is anticipated to play a significant opponent based on the last two episodes.
What Will Be the Story of the Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2?
The events of the season finale serve as a template for Dead City’s upcoming narrative. Negan is in a position to reprise his role as the head of a ruthless gang and possibly grow even stronger than before if he accepts Dama’s invitation to lead her men in their assault on Manhattan. Negan might resume at least some of his nasty behaviour as a result of this.
Regardless, his new position establishes the foundation for Maggie and Negan to remain on opposing sides for the majority of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, despite the fact that Negan’s actions are partly prompted by Dama’s threat to harm Herschel.
