Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 1 Review: Is Tokyo Revengers good or overrated?

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 1 Review: With a boom, the Tokyo Manji Gang is back, and we can’t wait to see what happens next. This brand successfully released one of the best delinquent-focused series, and this year it is back to continue the narrative. The series will be directed by Hatsumi Kouichi, who has already worked on anime such as Darling in the FranXX, Deadman Wonderland, Hunter x Hunter, etc.

This anime’s second season will be handled by the same studio, LIDENFILMS, that worked on the first one. They have worked on Yofukashi no Uta, Koi to Uso, Yamada-Kun, and the Seven Witches, etc. The first episode of Tokyo Revengers can alternatively be referred to as Season 2 Episode 1: Tokyo Revengers or the Christmas Showdown It’s Seiya Kessen-hen. Takemichi Hanagaki, the protagonist of the novel, is 26 years old and at the lowest point in his life.

He doesn’t have a stable job and he doesn’t live like an adult. There is no one he is close to, and his room is a mess exactly like his life. But twelve years ago, things were different. Takemichi operated his own gang back then along with a bunch of his friends, and he even had a lover who shared his feelings for him.

Then, due to a series of unfortunate events, he developed into the pitiful man he is today, with no prospect of a brighter future. But suddenly, he learns that his middle school girlfriend had been murdered by the notorious Tokyo Manji Gang. Soon after, Takemichi also passes away and, astonishingly, returns on the same day, twelve years earlier.

He still has his friends and girlfriend in this reality, and it turns out that Hinata, her younger brother, holds the key to enabling him to travel back and forth in time. He now intends to use this power, along with Hinata’s assistance, to prevent the Tokyo Manji Gang from killing his girlfriend.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 1 Review

The plot will probably center on what transpired with Takemichi after Hanma Shuuji captured him. He is shot by Hanma, and we will find out why. Since this anime has so many unexpected turns, it is difficult to predict what will happen in the first episode. Following the murder of Chifuyu, Kisaki now believes Takemichi is a traitor, and he attempts to blame him for the crime.

Takemichi receives a leg shot. Later, when Takemichi awakens, he discovers himself next to a river with a broken leg. Although Kazutora has stepped in to help him, it turns out that his original goal was to help Chifuyu. In a direct statement, Kazutora conveys his dissatisfaction with Toman and reminds Takemichi of their shared hopes for a new generation of hoodlums.

Unfortunately, Toman is no longer what it once was because of the corruption brought on by money. Kazutora discussed bringing Toman back to its former splendor with Chifuyu just before he passed away. Unfortunately, Takemichi had to battle alone, and the man was not even trustworthy.

When Takemichi tries to learn more about the causes of the issue, Kazutora informs him that Mikey is to blame for the corruption in Toman. Because of the corrupting effects of Black Dragon’s money and Kisaki’s brutality, he will never be normal again.

First Episode of Season Story Summary

Kisaki switches his attention to Takemichi and accuses him of betraying him after killing Chifuyu. Then he strikes Takemichi with a leg shot. Takemichi finds himself near a river with his leg broken when he later opens his eyes. Although it turns out that Kazutora has saved him, he admits that his true motivation was to save Chifuyu.

Kazutora expresses his disappointment that Toman has lost its way and reminds Takemichi of the new era of hoodlums they all once fantasized about in no uncertain terms. Unfortunately, Toman has been corrupted by money and is no longer what it once aspired to be. Prior to his passing, Chifuyu discussed changing Toman back to how it once was when Kazutora met him.

Unfortunately, he had been fighting alone the entire time and had no faith that Takemichi would be of any assistance. When Takemichi seeks to find out the causes of Toman’s corruption, Kazutora admits that Mikey is to blame for how things have developed. He is unable to return to normal because of the corrupting influences of Black Dragon’s wealth and Kisaki’s savagery.

Who Is Responsible for Hinata’s Death in the New Timeline at the Ending of Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 1?

After a lengthy conversation during their trip, Kazutora pulls over and signals for Takemichi to exit the vehicle. He informs him that someone is standing by in the next alley. Takemichi appears joyful when he recognizes Naoto but becomes surprised when he is placed in custody and charged with murder.

Later, Naoto meets with him in private to talk about what transpired. With each alteration Takemichi made in the past, he confesses that his timeline was drastically altered. Naoto is still a police officer, but Takemichi ended up rising through the ranks at Toman. Unfortunately, the adjustments were insufficient to save Hinata, who was once again murdered by Atsushi Sendo on August 10.

The search for evidence against Kisaki was then taken up by Naoto, Chifuyu, and Kazutora. He then plays a few videos that Chifuyu covertly shot and kept hidden from Takemichi. In one of those, Takemichi commands Atsushi Sendo to murder a person without knowing who they are.

All he knows is that Toman has found the individual annoying, hence he wants them to die. In a different video, Takemichi can be seen cursing and smashing furniture as he regrets giving Atsushi the orders that allegedly caused Hinata to die. Those tapes were in Chifuyu’s hands, but he kept them a secret in order to protect Takemichi. Understandably upset by what he has learned, Takemichi stoops to his knees.

Naoto tries to console him as he sobs by saying that he was probably being used by others. Takemichi no longer wants to continue because the outcomes have typically been the same in the end. At that point, Naoto reminds him that it is only because of him that he is alive. He contends that they were able to learn so many thanks to his efforts, and even though Hinata keeps dying in every timeline, at least they have advanced.
