Trot Hero Lim Young Woong’s Income Breakdown For Last Year
Mulgogi Music, the solo agency representing trot sensation Lim Young Woong, has disclosed its annual revenue and operational gains for the year 2023.
The reported figures for 2023 showcase Mulgogi Music’s annual revenue standing at 36.1 billion KRW (equivalent to approximately $26.4 million USD) with operating profits totaling 11.4 billion KRW (approximately $8.3 million USD).
Among these earnings, 24.8 billion KRW stemmed from various sources such as album sales, digital sales, and concert revenues, while an additional 5 billion KRW was attributed to media content, and 1.6 billion KRW from advertisements, among other sources.
The esteemed trot singer’s total annual income amounted to 23.3 billion KRW (approximately 17.1 million USD). This encompasses various sources, including the 19.2 billion KRW received during the year and an additional 3.1 billion KRW yet to be disbursed for his promotions. Additionally, Lim Young Woong accrued dividends totaling 1 billion KRW.
Established by Lim Young Woong in 2015, Mulgogi Music currently boasts a workforce of five individuals. Among them is CEO Shin Jung Hoon, who has been a steadfast collaborator of Lim Young Woong since before his meteoric rise to fame through ‘Mister Trot’.
Lim Young Woong maintains a 50% ownership stake in Mulgogi Music, while CEO Shin and another executive collectively hold the remaining 50% of the company’s shares.
In the aftermath of his victory as the champion of the trot competition program ‘Mister Trot’ in 2020, Lim Young Woong found himself inundated with offers from multiple entertainment companies, including HYBE Labels, in 2021.
However, he opted to stay loyal to CEO Shin and continue his journey with Mulgogi Music. This decision bore fruit as the agency started reaping the benefits of Lim Young Woong’s endeavors beginning in 2022.
