Back in the news again, BTS member Kim Taehyung, also known as V, took home the prize for Best Artist in the UK region for ‘The Hottest K-POP Wave’ at the 2023 Ten Asia Top 10 Awards (TTA). An update regarding the BTS sensation’s advancement to the final round of the prize was released on February 5, 2024, by an X account (@taeguide).

Kim Taehyung has been a prolific award-winner since the release of his first solo album, Layover, on September 8, 2023. Listeners in the UK were ecstatic to hear that the winner of Best Artist was going to be presented with a tangible trophy.
K-Pop Star BTS V Dominates the Western Music Scene in 2023
In case you missed it, the Ten Asia Top 10 Awards (TTA) will select the top ten performers from each country for the second half of 2023. The winner receives a trophy that reads “Artist in the Second Half of 2023” by the contest.
The top artist is chosen after two weeks of voting, and the winner gets the opportunity to have their music video shown on 120,000 screens in 1,650 PC rooms across the country. In addition, they have been seen in ads for Ten Star magazine. On top of that, voting is open to all citizens of 10 separate countries.
In keeping with the timing of Taehyung’s debut solo album, the BTS ARMY is positive that the idol will emerge victorious once again in 2023, as the musicians chosen are from that year. Quite astonishingly, the singer-songwriter has been named the best artist in the UK for eleven consecutive years.
The December 2023 issue of a prominent British entertainment magazine included Kim Taehyung’s album Layover on the cover. Featuring editorial picks and showcasing the finest music of 2023, TimeOut magazine’s 2023 The 30 Best Music list was published recently.
It was surprising for everyone, though, because V was the only K-pop singer to achieve such a prominent position on the list. His album “19th” came out on top of the “30 Best Albums of 2023” list, which was released on December 16, 2023.
Taehyung was notably counted among the famous Western performers, like Olivia Rodrigo, Lana Del Rey, Sam Smith, and others. Notable since it helped the singer gain renown in the English-speaking music business, this achievement deserves special mention.
His victory as the 2023 Ten Asia Top 10 Awards (TTA) UK region’s Best Artist further validates the BTS idol’s appeal in that area. Fans have posted many tweets on X to congratulate Taehyung:

Since December 11, 2023, global phenomenon Kim Taehyung has been serving his required military duty. According to reports, the artist was sent to the Special Duty Team (SDT) corps headquarters at the Army General Administration School on January 18, 2024, for additional training and duty.
