Vernon, a popular K-pop group SEVENTEEN member, has been chosen as the first global brand ambassador for the French luxury fashion house Kenzo. The announcement was made on June 23, 2023, by both Kenzo and Vernon on their official social media accounts.
Vernon
Vernon, whose real name is Choi Hansol, is a rapper and dancer in SEVENTEEN, a 13-member boy band that debuted in 2015 under Pledis Entertainment. He was born in New York in 1998 and moved to Korea when he was five. He has a mixed heritage of Korean and American.
Vernon is known for his charismatic stage presence, versatile rap skills, and unique fashion sense. He has also participated in solo and collaboration projects, such as the hip-hop unit BSS with fellow SEVENTEEN members Seungkwan and DK and the song “Loopy” with Korean-American singer-songwriter pH-1.
Vernon and SEVENTEEN have achieved global success with their music, winning numerous awards and breaking records. Their latest mini-album, “FML”, released in May 2023, topped the iTunes charts in 27 countries and sold over one million copies in the first week.

Kenzo
Kenzo is a French fashion brand founded in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada. It is known for its colourful and eclectic designs that blend different cultures and styles. Kenzo’s current artistic director is Nigo, a Japanese streetwear icon who founded the brand’s A Bathing Ape and Human Made.
Kenzo chose Vernon as its first global brand ambassador because of his unique personality and style that perfectly match the brand’s identity, according to a statement on its official website. Nigo said he was “pleased and grateful to welcome Vernon into the Kenzo family”.
Vernon expressed his honour and excitement for the partnership, saying he was looking forward to showcasing a new side of himself to his fans worldwide. He also said that he enjoyed Kenzo’s designs and philosophy.
