Hollywood star Keanu Reaves is all set to star in what will be his largest TV role to date, as Hulu is making a TV adaptation of Erik Larson’s best-seller ‘Devil in the White City’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming drama, being developed as a film and TV series since Leonardo DiCaprio optioned the property in 2010

has scored a formal series order at the Disney-backed streamer. The news was announced on Thursday as part of Hulu’s virtual time before the press at the Television Critics Association’s summer tour.

It centres on Daniel H. Burnham (Keanu Reeves), an ambitious but visionary architect tasked with designing the 1893 Chicago World’s Fairand Dr. H. H. Holmes,

America’s first modern serial killer, who is also the mastermind behind the infamous ‘Murder Castle,’ which was built in the fair’s shadow. The two men are pitted against.

Sam Shaw will serve as showrunner, executive producer, and writer on the project. Executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson,

and Martin Scorsese. DiCaprio was previously supposed to star in a Paramount Pictures feature film that was to be directed by the latter.

Reeves will star in and executive produce the Hulu series that will begin production in 2019 after months of negotiations. The show’s director, Todd Field, has joined the project as a co-producer.

Between ABC Signature and Paramount Television Studios. Hollywood Reporter claims that Paramount Pictures won a big bidding war in 2015 for the rights to the novel

with Billy Ray writing the scripts. The sitcom is also executive produced by Rick Yorn, Stacey Sher, Field, and Mark Lafferty.
