Zac Efron has appeared in more mature films like Blumhouse’s Firestarter and the Bad Neighbors trilogy, and even portrayed serial murderer Ted Bundy in 2019’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, the actor is still open to returning to Disney’s popular musical franchise.
He reprises his role as Andrew Mcgee, Stephen King’s father, in this reboot of the 1984 film adaptation. A reunion with his original High School Musical co-stars would make him happy to return, the actor says in the interview.
High School Musical fans will be pleased to know that Efron has positive memories of his time on the show and is open to returning. It’s possible that Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series might lead to an older Troy Bolton project in the future if the series’ success and fans’ revisiting of the original film series prompt the studio to do so.
