NewJeans is getting ready for an exciting performance at Geunjeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace. This will be a big deal because they’ll be the first K-pop girl group to perform there.
Their upcoming show called ‘2024 Korea On Stage – New Generation,’ is being put together by the Cultural Heritage Administration, along with the National Heritage Promotion Institute and KBS Korean Broadcasting. NewJeans recently finished recording their special performance at Geunjeongjeon Hall for this event.
Geunjeongjeon Hall is a special place with a lot of history from the Joseon Dynasty. Not many performances happen there, even though Gyeongbokgung Palace reopened in 1954.

They’re making history as the second K-pop group (after BTS) and the first K-pop girl group to perform at Geunjeongjeon. NewJeans will sing “Cool With You” in a special way. They’ll wear traditional Korean clothing, like hanbok, but with a modern twist.
Their outfits will include reimagined versions of the traditional Dansam Jeogori (the top part of the hanbok), Suran Chima (the outer dress), and Daeran Chima (a shorter outer dress). They’ll also wear traditional-style shoes and beautiful hair accessories to complete the look.
Moreover, the performance will become even more stunning as it takes place against the captivating night backdrop of Geunjeongjeon. This symbolizes the merging of our country’s heritage with the global influence of K-pop.
