Hope On The Street Vol.1, J-Hope’s new album, dropped on March 29. It comprises six new songs from the idol and guest appearances by musicians including Benny Blanco, Yunjin of LE SSERAFIM, and fellow member Jungkook.
Despite J-Hope’s continued military enlistment, the album was nonetheless published because fans were eager to hear new music from the adored musician.
But the way BIGHIT MUSIC has been advertising the record has people less pumped up. The label appears to be making the same mistakes it did when it came to advertising V’s latest single, “FRI(END)S,” and now it’s failing miserably when it comes to promoting the individual work of BTS members.
As a part of the album’s promotion, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 hosted a listening party. On the other hand, a link to buy “NEURON“—one of the album’s tracks—was present, but it led to something completely unrelated to J-Hope’s music.
The link was eventually altered after an hour of people complaining—a long time for such an issue to go unfixed.
Fans also pointed out other blunders in J-Hope’s album promos. In the initial announcement for the HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 listening parties, the times and dates were incorrect.
The item was corrected and BIGHIT MUSIC issued a brief apology after nine hours. Many fans find it infuriating and unfathomable that a big and affluent label like BIGHIT MUSIC would make such a mistake, especially considering how much success BTS has had over the previous decade.
