Netflix will make a follow-up to their hit movie Extraction, which comes as no surprise at all. Extraction is a very entertaining action story that is based on the comic book Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando León González, and Eric Skillman.
So it’s no surprise that it had the biggest debut in Netflix’s history, with an estimated 90 million people watching it in the first month after it came out. Chris Hemsworth plays a new action hero in Extraction, which was written by Joe Russo and directed by Sam Hargrave. The movie has a lot of promise to become a franchise.
He plays Tyler Rake, a black-ops assassin who used to be an Australian special forces soldier. In the first movie, Rake was paid by a crime boss to save his kidnapped son. He ended up going above and beyond what was expected of him by putting his own life at risk to make sure the stolen boy was safe. In fact, he didn’t just risk his life; it looked like he was already dead.

On his Instagram, Chris Hemsworth said that shooting for Extraction 2 would start in late November. Filming was supposed to start in September 2021 in Australia, but later, the location was changed to Prague, Czech Republic. It was said that the move was made because of COVID-19 in Australia and worries about possible shutdowns.
Sam Hargrave had also told Collider in the past that Extraction 2 would be filmed in the fall of 2021. In November 2021, filming for Extraction 2 began in Prague, and soon after, Hemsworth shared a video from the set.
Photos from the set also showed that in at least one scene, Hemsworth would be taking a train that was covered in snow. The actor who played Thor finished shooting on the movie in March 2022, and production ended in April, after five months.
