Fifty Fifty, who are embroiled in a dispute with their management agency, will finally get paid this month. FIFTY FIFTY turned a profit before the end of this month, clearing the way for the first instalment payment to be distributed to the band members.
It is expected that Keena, the lone member to have made peace with the agency, will receive a significant initial payment, likely in the tens of millions of KRW (five to six figures in USD).
It’s interesting to note that the majority of FIFTY FIFTY’s initial payout comes from royalties earned on online music services. Amazingly, just two years after their inception, the band was already profitable thanks to their music streaming revenue. It’s even more impressive given that the ongoing issues prevented them from earning money through marketing, concerts, or guest appearances.
They were able to accomplish this because of the widespread popularity of their song “Cupid,” which did extremely well on major international music websites like Billboard and Spotify. According to the international music income settlement procedure, payment is made between four and nine months after the corresponding revenue is generated. Members are anticipating receiving their long-awaited compensation this month.
Saena, Sio, and Aran have been at odds with the agency since April, and their future with the group is unclear as a result. The fact that they have been served with contract termination notifications and have stated their determination to continue legal challenges with the agency may hurt their prospects of getting the settlement monies.

Keena is the only member of FIFTY FIFTY mentioned as attending the ‘2023 Billboard Music Awards,’ yet the band has been nominated for an award.
