Jimin has had an impressive solo career both within and outside BTS, raising hopes for successful new ventures. On January 31st, fans were ecstatic to learn that “With You” had surpassed 200 million Spotify streams. Jimin and his best buddy Ha Sungwoon sang the Korean OST for the Korean drama ‘Our Blues.’ The Korean OST, released in April of 2022, becomes the fastest to achieve this goal in only 281 days and ten hours, with the instrumental falling just short of 16 million streams.
The Korean OST became a smash both at home and overseas. Some of its significant and exceptional records include the fastest song in iTunes history to reach #1 in 100 countries and every country with iTunes. In the first 24 hours, it was the most Shazamed K-drama OST. “With You” scored the biggest Top 100 debut on Melon and the most first-hour likes and unique listeners among BTS member songs. It also had the most significant launch on the Worldwide Apple Music list for a Korean OST.
“Lie” was another song with 200 million Spotify streams two days ago. The classically inspired dramatic masterpiece was published as part of the album ‘Wings’ in 2016. It highlighted Jimin’s abilities as a lyricist, composer, vocalist, world-class performer, and dancer.
The song is the most streamed solo of its era across all platforms (Spotify, MelOn, Pandora, Anghami, JioSaavn, YouTube, Apple Music, and Deezer) and was the first song written by a BTS member to sell 500K units in the US. “Lie” has been covered by several South Korean and international singers.
On January 11, 2021, “Serendipity” surpassed 200 million combined listens on Spotify, making it the most streamed solo song of a K-POP Male Idol, K-pop B-side, and the first un-promoted K-Pop solo to accomplish so. “Intro Serendipity” was published as a comeback trailer for ‘Love Yourself: Her,’ which has around 170 million views on YouTube; it was the first by a BTS member to reach 100 million views on May 16, 2019, and had over 500 YouTube reactions in less than 48 hours.

The full version is from the 2018 album ‘Love Yourself: Answer,’ and it is the first and only solo by a BTS member to gain over 100 and 200 million streams on Spotify and the highest first-day streams. The song has been recorded by rookie idols and Shawn Stockman of the iconic R&B group Boyz 2 Men. American singer Khalid has professed his appreciation for it on social media, even singing along to it while attending a BTS concert. “Serendipity” is also a calming lullaby for babies and insomniacs at wedding receptions.
The 2020 Latin pop-inspired song “Filter” established Jimin as a diverse and experienced pop star. The song was the most streamed Korean Male solo song of 2020 on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Genie, MelOn, Pandora, Anghami, YouTube Music, Line Music, Deezer, and JioSaavn, as well as charting at the top on the majority of those platforms.
It was the fastest un-promoted song by a Korean soloist to reach 200 million streams on Spotify in September 2021, and it now has 354 million streams. It had the highest debut for a Korean solo song on Spotify, with 2 million listens, and was third highest after “ON” and “ON” feat Sia. The single “Filter” debuted at 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 88 on the Chinese Hot 100. Among many other accomplishments, the song reached 117 on iTunes last year.
“Friends,” a song Jimin produced and sung alongside Taehyung, has topped 195 million Spotify streams and, along with “Filter,” is the only BTS solo single nominated for Song of the Year on the Gaon chart. Jimin is the only BTS member to hold a triple crown, with “Lie,” “Filter,” and “Serendipity FLE” each selling over 500K sales in the United States, totaling 2.2 Million units sold in the United States. “Vibe,” a song written and co-written by Taeyang of BIGBANG, gave Jimin his first career Billboard Hot 100 entry as a soloist.
