House of the Dragon’s penultimate episode, with Rhaenys emerging from the flagstones atop her dragon, was incredible. Sensational. But no one could have predicted that it would be brutally cut — we mean topped — by the finale’s own epic dragon moment. True to form for the world of Game of Thrones, not everyone survives, and the implications will be huge. We know you’re eager to learn more about House of the Dragon’s impending second season, so without further ado, here is all we know thus far. Here we will discuss about everything we know about house of dragon season 2.
House Of The Dragon Season 2 Potential Release Date
House of the Dragon will undoubtedly be back for a second season, as both ancient and modern deities have heard our petitions. The proof was established a long time ago. The first episode had hardly been out for five days when the news broke. Given the massive interest in the Game of Thrones prequel, it’s easy to see why HBO was interested. Between its Sunday premiere and the following Friday, House of the Dragon attracted 20 million viewers, the greatest audience for any new original series in HBO history. In addition, we included it in our list of the top television shows of 2022.
House Of The Dragon Season 2 Cast
Without the Targaryen and Velaryon offspring, there would be no civil war. Here are the likely returnees from this group of fighting cousins, nephews, and uncles:
- Aegon Targaryen, played by Tom Glynn-Carney
- As Aemond Targaryen, Ewan Mitchell is a standout.
- Helaena Targaryen, played by Phia Saban
- Jacaerys Velaryon, portrayed by Harry Collett
- Rhaena Targaryen, played by Phoebe Campbell
- Baela Targaryen, portrayed by Bethany Antonia
Joffrey Velaryon, Aegon “the younger,” and Viserys Targaryen, three of Rhaenyra’s younger children, may join the cast once they reach adulthood. Daeron Targaryen (Alice and Viserys’ other on-page child) has no chance. He was apparently eliminated from the TV series’s family tree. Not sure what went wrong, though.

House Of The Dragon Season 2 Plot
War! There is absolutely no avoiding the truth. House of the Dragon has done an excellent job setting the stage with their comprehensive character histories, and we are now dancing in the precursor to the upcoming civil war. But now is the moment to take action. Alicent and Rhaenyra have been trying to find a peaceful way forward through the chaos caused by Viserys’s dying words.
However, all of that is soon to be blown out of the water by Lucerys’s death, as Rhaenyra is expected to seek swift compensation for her son’s cruel death. Given Aemond’s track record, it’s quite doubtful that she’ll accept the accidental nature of Lucerys’ death. For any attempt Aemond made to exact revenge, Rhaenyra may try to usurp not only the crown but also Aemond’s life.
He predicted civil war, saying, “I think the way it’s going, it’s leading to civil war.” “Civil war is that great thing that countries indulge in when they haven’t got anybody else to go and fight, and they seem to just prefer fighting among themselves just to keep their hand in, and this is no different. What makes it so remarkable is that they’ve had peace for so long and are now actually destroying the kingdom from within, so I would expect more of the same – more division, more picking sides.
Now that the conflict is back on track, we may get to see more of the Houses that Game of Thrones viewers know and love. Allegiances will have been forged between the Tully, Arryn, Stark, Baratheon, and Lannister houses, but the outcome is still up in the air. Constant plotting and sudden shifts in alliances are constant features of political life.
