Natalie Portman And Paul Mescal Spotted Together In London
Natalie Portman and Paul Mescal enjoyed a hangout in London. The Oscar winner, 42, and the Normal People star, 28, were photographed together in North London on Wednesday, May 29, as seen in photos published by the Daily Mail.
Both actors sported matching white T-shirts, with Portman wearing blue jeans and Mescal tucking his shirt into dark trousers. A source told PEOPLE that Portman and Mescal are just friends.
This sighting comes several months after they participated in Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series in December. Mescal starred in the 2022 musical drama Carmen, directed by Portman’s now ex-husband Benjamin Millepied. Portman and Millepied, who share two children, finalized their divorce after she filed in July 2023, ending 11 years of marriage.

During their Variety conversation, they praised each other’s work. Mescal called Portman “utterly brilliant” in May and December, and Portman expressed being “so impressed” with Mescal’s performance in All of Us Strangers. Portman also noted Mescal’s impressive filmography choices, particularly his collaborations with many first-time directors.
Mescal attributed his choices to a gut feeling and emphasized the importance of cultivating one’s taste rather than focusing on building a career. He mentioned that films like All of Us Strangers and Aftersun are connected in their conversation with each other, aiming to keep audiences engaged and surprised.
Portman also asked Mescal about his preparation for the upcoming Gladiator sequel, to which he humorously replied, “All day, every day.”
Promoting their conversation on Instagram last year, Portman referred to Mescal as “the one and only Paul Mescal.”
