Taemin of SHINee completed his necessary military duty this year, and upon his return, he immediately reunited with the rest of the band to commemorate their 15th anniversary; he has also recently made his much-anticipated solo debut. On October 30, Taemin released Guilty, his fourth solo mini-album and first in over two years.
To mark the occasion, he has been doing promotional rounds, where he has been opening up about his training days, his reputation as an inspiration to up-and-coming artists, his friendships with other K-Pop idols, his dream collaboration, and much more. Taemin has spent this year honouring three milestones in his career: his 30th birthday, the 15th anniversary of his debut, and the 9th anniversary of his solo debut.
Taemin, while recording an episode of the new variety show Curator, reflected on SHINee’s first hit, “Replay,” and shared how much more meaningful it is to him now that he is closer to his bandmates. He went on to say that the song gave him a reason “to exist,” as it was the first to officially announce 14-year-old Taemin to the world as SHINee’s maknae.

Curator host HoonD joked that by now all the noona admirers are married, despite the fact that Taemin is already 30 and the Korean title for “Replay” is Noona Neomu Yeppeo” (Noona, you’re so gorgeous). Taemin thought back to a day when HoonD asked whether he had any interesting anecdotes involving noona fans.
Taemin revealed that a noona (a phrase often used by males to refer an elder sister or an older female friend) fan asked him to write “I love you” and her name in his fanbook during a fan sign event. After Taemin complied with the fan’s request, she started chatting about her family. In that instant, Taemin comically registered how long it had been since his debut.

Taemin, in his Curator episode, recalled his time as a trainee and opened up about the rule he frequently disobeyed with EXO’s Kai when at SM Entertainment.
