A week ago, we went into Apple TV Plus to catch the second episode of Season 3 of Ted Lasso. We had lots of questions. The first question they ask is, “Jake, Jake, who?”

Ted (Jason Sudeikis) found out at the end of last week’s episode that his wife Michelle (Andrea Anders) may have a new boyfriend or at least a new friend who is willing to shell out the cash to buy Ted and Michelle’s kid Henry (Gus Turner) an illuminated replica of Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet.

Many believe this is a subtle dig at Sudeikis’ ex-girlfriend Olivia Wilde, who has been linked to Harry Styles (who appeared in the post-credits sequence of Marvel’s Eternals).

But, the actual relationship drama of the premiere was between Roy (Brett Goldstein) and Keeley (Juno Temple) when they broke the news to young Phoebe (Elodie Blomfield) and the audience. The fact that they couldn’t agree on a valid reason for ending their relationship added insult to injury. Roy said they were too busy, but Phoebe saw through his excuse.

As it was widely reported that Richmond would finish last in the Premier League this year, the team quickly became a punchline. Ted took the group on a cheesy but aptly symbolic road trip through London’s sewer system to lighten the mood.

After seeing the video footage, the media mocked Richmond, and even betrayer Nate (Nick Mohammed) attacked his former teammate Lasso. Hanna Waddingham’s Rebecca took the jibes personally and urged Ted to treat the situation seriously.
