Weverse, a South Korean social media platform, allowed Kim Taehyung of BTS to leave comments on fan posts on March 2, 2024. Among other things, he let them in on his plans to bulk up, star in Ultimate Muscle 2 and more.
On December 11, 2023, V of BTS and Kim Namjoon both started their required military duty. The idol has put on more than ten kilograms since then. The information was made public in a Weverse interim report.
A fan asked Kim Taehyung about his weight gain, and he said that anyone can gain 86 kg as long as they eat well, exercise regularly, and train every day. Fans quickly voiced their opinions online in response to the idol’s statement, and one user even went as far as to tweet:

BTs V Gain 86KG Weight In Military
Prior to starting his mandatory military service, Kim Taehyung weighed a svelte 62 kg. The idol went through rigorous training after being accepted into his military. At first, he completed the Army General Administration School’s five-week basic training and three-week supplemental training.
After that, on February 8, 2024, he was sent to serve the rest of his military career with the 2nd Military Police Corps, or the Double Dragons. He posted an interim report on Weverse a few days later, claiming to have gained 10 kg and weighing 72.5 kg as of February 14.
The hero recently answered a fan’s concern regarding his weight increase and good eating habits in an interaction with fans. And the idol, in turn, said,
“Kim Taehyug’s imagination becomes reality. If you eat, exercise, and train like this, you gain 86 kg.. it’s possible”
