The father of actor Gong Yoo, who was in Train to Busan and Squid Game, has died at the age of 78. Management SOOP, an agency, broke the terrible news that Gong Yoo’s father had died. According to the agency’s announcement made today, Wednesday, February 7, Gong Yoo’s father reportedly died on February 5.

Gong Yoo’s dad passed away at 78 years old after a long battle with illness on 5 Feb. At his father’s passing, the whole family was there. At Seoul’s Asan Hospital Funeral Home, the father is now laid to rest. Gong Yoo and his relatives are present to observe the operation. On February 8th, at 5:20 a.m. KST, there will be a funeral procession and burial in Sian Family Memorial Park for the deceased.
