Audiences eager for a “Good Burger” sequel may now place their orders. “Good Burger 2” has been confirmed by Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. With a recent visit on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the couple announced the news.
Before Mitchell emerges in costume as “Ed,” Fallon greets Thompson at the start of the program. Before the three welcome the audience to “Welcome to Good Burger 2,” Fallon joins in the fun by donning a “Good Burger” costume.
In a conversation with Fallon, the late-night host mentioned that the first “Good Burger” movie had been out for over 25 years. The 1997 movie was based on a comedic sketch from Nickelodeon‘s “All That” about a fast food business, in which Thompson played Dexter, and Mitchell played Ed.
Man, it’s such a blessing. It’s absurd,” Thompson exclaimed to Fallon. “We’ll film it this summer, and it’ll be released soon.” According to a press release promoting the project, Dexter Reed is the main character in the new movie and is “down on his luck when another one of his inventions fails.”
According to the plot, “Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and offers him his old job back.” Dex comes up with a scheme to get back on his feet with new staff at Good Burger but regrettably does so at the expense of jeopardizing the restaurant’s future.
Thompson said, “I can’t believe it’s been over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!” “Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud, and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal!” he said.

Loving performing with my brother Kel, and I’m excited to reveal to the audience what these characters have been up to since we last saw them. In his statement, Mitchell supplemented that.
“It’s such a great privilege to be still doing it after all these years; Ed is one of those timeless characters that has provided so much joy and laughter to fans,” he said. It’s fantastic to return and continue the tales of Dex, Ed, and Good Burger for both the viewers of today and their future generations.
Later this year, “Good Burger 2” will be available to stream on Paramount+.
