On November 17, JYP Entertainment revealed that Lia of ITZY would be extending her break from the group in order to focus on her mental health. The agency released a statement saying, “We want to inform you about ITZY member Lia’s present health status and planned promotion plans. Lia has been diagnosed with anxiety disorder and is currently undergoing therapy for her symptoms of anxiousness and anxiety during her scheduled activities.
After careful consideration and consultation with the rest of ITZY, Lia has opted to forego participating in the group’s upcoming album (due out in January 2024) and subsequent global tour in order to focus on becoming healthy again.
JYP Entertainment expressed its commitment to ensuring Lia’s thorough recovery, emphasizing the importance of her health and well-being. The group appreciated the fans’ patience and understanding over this trying period. “For fans who will definitely feel disappointed upon hearing this news, Lia’s unreleased solo song titled ‘Blossom’ will be featured in the forthcoming album. On the same day as the new single, a lyric video was also unveiled. The organization is committed to providing Lia with the highest standard of care at all times. The final sentence of the message read, “Once again, we thank fans for always cherishing ITZY.”
