IVE
A girl group from South Korea, Ive (Korean: RR: Aibeu; stylized as IVE) was created by Starship Entertainment. Gaeul, Yujin, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo are the six members of the group. Their first release, a self-titled EP, was released on December 1, 2021.
The moniker “Ive” is an abbreviation for “I have,” which is how the band came to be known. It alludes to the concept of confidently displaying what “I have” to an audience, where the group, rather than narrating their development, aims to present themselves as a “complete girl group” from the get-go.
In 2018, both Wonyoung and Yujin appeared on the reality competition show Produce 48. Wonyoung placed first, while Yujin placed fifth; both girls made it into the final lineup of the project girl group Iz*One. They continued to do promotional work with the organization until its dissolution on April 29, 2021.
