Rumours have circulated that soloist SOMI and SEVENTEEN member Mingyu are dating. Fans noticed certain parallels in their Instagram photos, which led to the commencement of the rumours. A pre-listening party for SOMI’s most recent comeback EP, Game Plan, sparked the rumours.
Who Is Mingyu’s Girlfriend?
There is no confirmation regarding who is Mingyu girlfriend. But some internet users think the dating claims could be genuine, while others say people should not judge a person based on their Instagram pictures alone. The rumours have split the internet and started a controversy. A slew of K-pop stars, including HyunA, Yugyeom of GOT7, Nayeon and Jihyo of TWICE, Woozi of SEVENTEEN, and RM of BTS were among the guests at SOMI’s listening party on August 11.
Mingyu left fans guessing on July 29 when he tweeted a photo of himself wearing a cardigan that looked remarkably similar to the one in SOMI’s listening party photographs. Someone is sporting SOMI’s Game Plan LP drawstring bag in the photo. But the identity of the person is still up in the air. The dating rumours started when a community post about the cardigans became popular due to how similar they looked.
In reaction to this post, many voiced their disapproval of the alleged romance between the two celebrities. Given the recent internet drama surrounding SEVENTEEN members Joshua’s supposed romance, some claimed that Mingyu and SOMI would not officially announce their relationship. The musicians’ management companies, PLEDIS and THEBLACKLABEL, have not addressed these rumours as of yet.
In defence of their idols, FML fans have banded together to say that the two singers’ shared Instagram photos don’t prove they’re romantically together.
Like Mingyu, Joshua was once the subject of romance rumours involving a model, and fans were worried about the online vitriol hurled towards him. Some people on the internet are being really mean to Joshua, and his admirers are worried that Mingyu will be the next subject of dating rumours.
