Chapter 16 of Dazzling At the start of Watermelon, Eun-Gyeol is seen driving his father Yi Chan to the hospital following an accident. He is sorry that he was unable to keep Yi Chan safe when it was most needed. Yi Chan imagines himself in the operating room, graduating from college and keeping his word to his grandmother. His buddies Cheong-Ah, Eun-Gyeol, and Eun-Yu are also around him.
Eun-Yu encounters Grandpa Viva in the interim as she gives the police information. Grandpa Viva asks Eun-Yu about Yi Chan’s cassette after finding it. But he believes Choi Se-Kyung, his daughter, has made a comeback from the past. “Why did you abandon me?” is the question Eun-Yu asks him, one that her mother has been dying to ask him.
According to Grandpa Viva, Se-Kyung was content with her adoptive parents. Eun-Yu acknowledges that wasn’t the case, though, and that Se-Kyung was always in competition with her step-siblings to establish her value. In an attempt to alter the course of events, she begs Grandpa Viva to burn the cassette. As she departs, Eun-Yu promises that this is the best she can do with her time travel experience.
The Master calls on both Eun-Yu and Eun-Gyeol. The letter requests that they complete their voyage and arrive at the exact spot where they first came following their time travel. Although Eun-Gyeol isn’t ready to leave Yi Chan, the Master explains that because he doesn’t belong in this world, his existence in the past could have serious consequences.

Yi Chan underwent a successful surgery in the interim. Eun-Gyeol expresses regret for his current actions when he slumbers. But Eun-Gyeol finds out the next day that Yi Chan has become deaf. Following the diagnosis, the latter’s grandma breaks down, and Eun-Gyeol departs to determine the accident’s cause. When Eun-Yu gets there, he tells him it’s Yoon Ju-Yeop, Cheong-Ah’s stepbrother.
At the police station, Eun-Gyeol clashes with Ju-Yeop, but Eun-Yu drags him out. She leaves things as they are and advises him to go back to the present. Since he wasn’t the cause of his father’s accident, Eun-Gyeol feels bad about having time traveled. But Eun-Yu clarified that he had completed most of his missions when he saved her and freed Cheong-Ah from her stepmother.
Cheong-Ah’s father uses sign language to ask his daughter to go on a trip with him. Yi Chan receives a fax from Cheong-Ah letting him know about the encouraging development and thanks him for making it happen. Ji-Mi is being held for tax evasion and is unable to leave the country despite her father’s plans to send her overseas for more education.
Eun-Yu meets her mother, Se-Kyung, in person. She requests that she meet her father, Grandpa Viva, and go about her own life. After being startled, Se-Kyung flees in shock. In the meantime, Eun-Gyeol contacts Grandpa Viva on the recommendation of Eun-Yu, explains CODA to him and requests that he make amends with his daughter. He gives Grandpa Viva one last goodbye and departs with Yi Chan’s cassette.
