Billboard’s World Albums Chart
The Billboard charts’ weekly K-pop music chart data is compiled in the list of K-pop albums in the diagrams, which Billboard K-Town, an online Billboard column, then covers. The albums, EPs, and releases by K-pop artists are currently charting on Billboard.
ITZY
Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna are the members of the South Korean girl group Itzy (stylized in all capitals; Korean: RR: Itji; MR: Itchi). JYP Entertainment founded the group. On February 12, 2019, they made their public debut by releasing their single album It’z Different.
They are the first K-pop girl group to accomplish a “Rookie Grand Slam,” winning Rookie of the Year at the 34th Golden Disc Awards, New Artist of the Year at the 9th Gaon Chart Music Awards, and the 2019 Melon Music Awards, Best New Female Artist at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and the New Artist Award at the 29th Seoul Music Awards.
Chaeryeong and her sister were cast by JYP Entertainment (JYP) through the K-pop Star 3 television series after failing Fant agio’s tryouts. Chaeryeong competed in JYP’s survival show Sixteen in 2015, but she was cut from the final lineup of Twice, the victorious girl group. She completed five years of training before becoming Itzy’s first JYP member.

Before Itzy’s debut, Ryujin was discovered at a Got7 concert and received four years of training at JYP. Yuna and Yeji joined JYP in 2015 and underwent three years of training; Yuna did so after being seen by company personnel, and Yeji did so after passing an audition.
The last member, Lia, initially went through the SM Entertainment audition process and was accepted, but she was forced to withdraw at the last minute because of a conflict with her parents. A few years later, she was successful in the JYP auditions after two years of training.
